How to Download Music From Spotify

As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, downloading music from Spotify is only possible for Spotify Premium subscribers. Free users can only stream music online. Here’s how you can download music from Spotify with a Premium account:

Please note: Downloading music from Spotify and using it in a way that violates Spotify’s terms of service or infringes on copyright laws is illegal. Make sure to respect the copyright of artists and use downloaded music for personal listening only.

Subscribe to Spotify Premium: Ensure that you have an active Spotify Premium subscription. Downloads are not available for free users.

Install the Spotify App: Download and install the Spotify app on your device. The download feature is available on the mobile app (iOS and Android) and the desktop app (Windows and macOS).

Find the Music to Download: Search for the song, album, or playlist you want to download. You can download individual songs or entire playlists for offline listening.

Enable Download Switch: For playlists, toggle the “Download” switch at the top of the playlist to download all the songs in the playlist. For individual songs, open the song and toggle the “Download” switch next to the track name.

Downloading Process: Once you enable the download switch, Spotify will start downloading the music to your device. The download progress will be shown for each song or playlist.

Access Downloaded Music: After the download is complete, you can access your downloaded music by going to the “Your Library” section in the app and selecting “Downloads” from the menu. On the desktop app, the downloaded music can be found under “Your Library” > “Playlists” > “Liked Songs.”

Enjoy Offline Listening: You can now listen to your downloaded music without an internet connection by accessing the “Downloads” section of the app.

Remember that downloaded music is only accessible through the Spotify app, and you cannot transfer the downloaded files to other devices or use them outside of the Spotify app.

Keep in mind that Spotify’s features and user interface may change over time, so it’s always a good idea to check the latest instructions from Spotify or refer to the app’s help section for the most up-to-date information on downloading music.

How to Cancel Spotify Premium

To cancel your Spotify Premium subscription, you’ll need to follow these steps. Please note that the process may slightly vary depending on whether you subscribed through the Spotify website or a third-party platform (e.g., Apple, Google Play). Here’s how to cancel it through the Spotify website:

Open a web browser and go to the Spotify website (www.spotify.com) and log in to your account.

Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.

From the drop-down menu, select “Account.

On the Account overview page, scroll down to the “Your plan” section, where you’ll see your current subscription details.

Click on “CHANGE PLAN” next to your current Premium subscription.

Scroll down on the next page and click on “CANCEL PREMIUM.

Spotify will ask you to confirm your decision. Click on “CANCEL PREMIUM” again to proceed.

You’ll be redirected to a page confirming that your Premium subscription will end at the end of your current billing period.

After completing these steps, your Spotify Premium subscription will be canceled, and you’ll return to the free, ad-supported version of Spotify. However, you’ll still have access to your Premium features until the end of your current billing cycle. At that point, your account will revert to the free version, and you’ll be able to continue using Spotify with advertisements and some limitations.

If you subscribed to Spotify Premium through a third-party platform (e.g., Apple or Google Play), you will need to cancel it through that platform’s respective account settings.

Always double-check to ensure your subscription has been canceled by reviewing your account settings or contacting Spotify support if you encounter any issues.
